PhD Candidate · Psychology — Yale StatLab

Former Consultant

I am a PhD candidate in the Department of Psychology at Yale, with a focus in neuroscience. My research asks how complex social behaviors are encoded in the brain: I record neural signals in the prefrontal cortex and amygdala while primates communicate and compete over resources, and ask what makes animals cooperate rather than compete. Before Yale I completed a four-year bachelor's degree and a one-year master's degree in biology at the Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore. Much of my day-to-day work is large-scale data management and cluster computing, and at the StatLab I most enjoyed helping with high-performance computing workflows, theoretical modeling and simulation, hypothesis testing, and machine learning.
